About the International
Board of Healing
Our Mission
The International Board of Healing (IBOH) was founded on a simple conviction: holistic practitioners deserve institutional recognition for their work.
Across the globe, millions of people rely on holistic, intuitive, and integrative practitioners for support that conventional systems don't always provide — emotional guidance, energetic healing, somatic release, spiritual counseling, and more. Yet the practitioners who deliver this care often operate without professional infrastructure: no credentials, no ethical oversight, no way for clients to verify their legitimacy.
IBOH exists to close that gap.
We are an independent credentialing organization that evaluates holistic practitioners against professional and ethical standards, awards the Holistic Healer Certified (HHC) designation to qualified candidates, and maintains a global registry of verified practitioners.
What We Are — and What We're Not
IBOH is not a training school or course provider. We don't teach healing modalities. We don't issue diplomas.
We are a professional standards and credentialing body. We evaluate practitioners who have already completed their training and built their practice, and we provide the ethical framework, professional designation, and public verification that the holistic industry currently lacks.
Think of IBOH as the holistic equivalent of a professional licensing board — adapted for an industry that doesn't yet have one.
Our Values
Inclusivity Across Modalities
We recognize that holistic healing spans hundreds of traditions and techniques. The HHC designation is intentionally broad — we credential practitioners based on ethical conduct and professional standards, not adherence to any single modality.
Ethical Accountability
Every IBOH-credentialed practitioner operates under our published Code of Ethics. This protects clients, elevates the profession, and gives practitioners a clear framework for responsible practice.
Transparency
Our standards, ethics, and verification systems are public. Anyone can verify a practitioner's standing through our directory. We believe accountability and transparency are the foundations of professional trust.
Global Accessibility
Holistic healing is practiced in every country on earth. IBOH serves practitioners globally, with no geographic restrictions on candidacy.
Advisory & Governance
IBOH is guided by an advisory council with backgrounds spanning holistic practice, professional ethics, credentialing standards, and wellness entrepreneurship. As a growing organization, we are actively building our governance structure and welcome inquiries from experienced professionals interested in contributing to our mission.
